AI-Powered Environmental Extreme Detection System
This artificial intelligence system identifies environmental extremes by analyzing oceanographic data such as temperature, oxygen levels, and acidity. The system segments data into regions with consistent environmental conditions and defines extremes based on historical patterns within each region, enabling more targeted analysis of environmental changes in Canada's waters.
The system is currently in development by Fisheries and Oceans Canada and is designed for use by Government of Canada employees. This system does not involve personal information and focuses exclusively on environmental monitoring and analysis. The AI uses machine learning algorithms to automatically detect and characterize unusual environmental conditions that may indicate ecological stress or changes in marine ecosystems.
