Automated Drone Bridge Defect Detection

This AI-powered system uses drone technology to automatically detect and identify surface defects on bridges, displaying them in augmented reality for inspectors. The system is currently in development as a proof of concept and is designed to make bridge inspections safer, more efficient, and more cost-effective by combining drone capabilities with advanced AI and digital technologies.

The system is intended for use by Government of Canada employees conducting bridge inspections. It does not involve processing of personal information. The system uses computer vision and object detection algorithms trained on the CODEBRIM dataset to analyze visual data captured by drones and provide real-time feedback to inspectors through augmented reality interfaces.
