AI-Powered Liquid Chromatography Experiment Monitoring
QuaLC is an artificial intelligence system developed by the National Research Council Canada in collaboration with the University of Ottawa. This system creates a 'digital shadow' of liquid chromatography experiments, continuously monitoring pressure profiles to detect potential problems before they occur. The system provides early warning notifications to help researchers identify and address experimental issues in real-time, improving the reliability and efficiency of laboratory work.
The system is currently in development and does not collect or process personal information. It is designed for use by both government employees and members of the public conducting liquid chromatography research. By analyzing pressure patterns from chromatography equipment, QuaLC helps prevent failed experiments and reduces wasted resources, making scientific research more efficient and productive.
The prototype is being prepared for publication and will be hosted on complimet.ca, Canada's central repository for compliant AI systems. This transparency initiative ensures that the research community and the public can understand how this AI tool works and how it supports laboratory science.
