AI-Powered Scientific Discovery and Materials Innovation

This AI system is being developed by the National Research Council Canada to accelerate scientific discovery in areas such as pharmaceuticals and battery materials. The system is designed to identify novel compounds and optimize material properties that could lead to breakthrough innovations in cancer therapies and energy storage solutions.

The system is currently in development and is primarily used by Government of Canada employees and research collaborators as part of the AI for Design Challenge program. This system does not involve the collection or processing of personal information about members of the public.

Key transparency information: The AI supports scientific research and discovery processes rather than making decisions about individuals. It is designed to assist researchers in identifying promising candidates for further investigation, such as new lithium cathode configurations for batteries or T-cell protein editing approaches for personalized cancer therapies.
