Transport Canada's Travel Policy Chatbot is an artificial intelligence system designed to help Government of Canada employees quickly find answers to travel-related questions. The chatbot uses information from both Transport Canada and National Joint Council travel directives to provide accurate guidance on travel policies and procedures.
The system is currently in production and is being used by Transport Canada's corporate finance team to answer internal travel inquiries. As the system's accuracy and reliability improve, it may be expanded to serve travelers across the entire Transport Canada organization. The chatbot does not collect or process personal information, making it a privacy-safe tool for policy information delivery.
The system is hosted on Transport Canada's secure Azure cloud infrastructure. The development team is currently working to implement a feedback mechanism that will allow continuous improvement of the chatbot's responses based on user interactions.
