The Standard Operating Procedures Assistant is an artificial intelligence tool currently in development by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA). This system uses advanced natural language processing technology to help Government of Canada employees search through and understand CATSA's Standard Operating Procedures documents more efficiently.
The assistant leverages natural language processing and retrieval augmented generation capabilities to allow users to ask questions and receive relevant information from the procedures database in plain language, rather than having to manually search through documents. This makes it easier for staff to find the guidance they need to perform their duties correctly and consistently.
As this system is still in development, CATSA is carefully evaluating how it will work and ensure it meets organizational needs. The system does not involve processing personal information about individuals. All Government of Canada employees who need to reference operating procedures will be the primary users of this tool.
