AI-Powered Access to Information Redaction Assistant
ATIPXpress AI Functionality is an artificial intelligence system developed by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) to assist Government of Canada employees in processing Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) requests. The system uses natural language processing, automated pattern recognition, and machine learning to suggest intelligent redactions of sensitive information from government documents, making the ATIP process faster and more consistent.
This AI assistant analyzes historical ATIP submissions, documentation, and redaction patterns to learn from past decisions and provide real-time suggestions to human reviewers. Employees use the system to improve both the accuracy and efficiency of the redaction process, reducing the time required to review documents while maintaining privacy protection standards.
The system is currently in development and will process personal information contained in ATIP submissions and historical government documents. All recommendations remain subject to human review and decision-making, ensuring that government employees maintain full control over what information is redacted and released.
