AI-Powered Draft Response Assistant for Public Inquiries
The Public Enquiries Center Digital Assistant is an AI system deployed by Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) to help government employees respond more efficiently to public inquiries. The system assists ISC employees by generating real-time draft replies and providing translation services based on publicly available information, enabling faster and more consistent response times to citizens.
This system is used internally by Government of Canada employees to support their work in responding to public inquiries. It does not make autonomous decisions but rather provides assistive drafting and translation capabilities to help employees compose better responses. The system works exclusively with publicly available information, which helps minimize privacy risks.
Key transparency information: This system is designed to support (not replace) human employees in their work. All final responses to the public remain the responsibility of government staff who review and authorize any communications sent on behalf of ISC.
