The Canada Revenue Agency is developing an AI system to assist with generating communications content more efficiently. The system uses generative AI tools to help draft communications products based on approved and publicly available information that has already been reviewed. This system is currently in development and will primarily be used by Government of Canada employees.
The AI system analyzes historical communication databases containing media responses, fact sheets, and parliamentary question responses from the past two decades. By learning from these approved communications, the system can help generate new content drafts, reducing the significant time burden of creating additional communications materials.
This system does not process personal information. The system is being developed with Microsoft as the technology vendor. All generated content will continue to be subject to the same approval and quality processes used for other government communications.
