AI-Powered Cybersecurity Threat Detection

The Entity and User Behavior Analytics system is an artificial intelligence tool deployed by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada to enhance cybersecurity across the department's information technology environment. The system monitors and analyzes patterns of user and entity activity to detect abnormal or suspicious behavior that may indicate cybersecurity threats, insider risks, or compromised accounts.

This system uses machine learning and large language models to identify anomalies in system logs, network activity, and security event data. When unusual patterns are detected, the system presents visual trends and security alerts to enable proactive threat detection and response. The system is currently in production and is used by Government of Canada employees to strengthen the department's security posture.

Important to know: This system does not involve the collection or processing of personal information. It operates exclusively within the department's internal IT infrastructure and is designed to protect government systems and data from security threats.
