Personalized Course Recommendations for GC Employees
The Recommender Model is an AI system developed by the Canada School of Public Service (CSPS) to provide personalized course recommendations to Government of Canada employees. The system analyzes learner profiles, behavior patterns, and course metadata to suggest relevant training opportunities tailored to individual needs and career development goals.
This system affects employees by shaping which training courses are recommended to them based on their past learning behavior and professional profile. The recommendations are generated through collaborative filtering and skill graph integration techniques that identify patterns in how similar learners have engaged with courses.
The system is currently in development and involves the processing of personal information about learners. It is being hosted on Microsoft Azure infrastructure. Key transparency information: The system uses learner behavior data, course metadata, and feedback to generate recommendations. Employees should be aware that their learning patterns and course interactions are analyzed to power the recommendation engine.
