AI-Powered Ocean Data Anomaly Detection

The Oceanographic Anomaly Detection System uses machine learning to automatically identify unusual patterns in ocean conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) data collected from Canadian waters. This system helps marine scientists quickly identify significant physical phenomena in the ocean's state that warrant closer investigation, improving research efficiency and scientific discovery.

The system is currently in development by Fisheries and Oceans Canada and is intended for use by Government of Canada employees involved in oceanographic research and monitoring. The system does not involve processing personal information about individuals—it analyzes purely physical oceanographic measurements to support scientific research and ocean monitoring objectives.
