AI-Powered Access to Information Processing

The ATIP Document Inspector is an AI-powered assistant system in development by the Government of Canada that helps streamline how Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) analysts work with documents and coordinate between ATIP liaisons and document holders. Currently, all communication happens through email, but this new system will use artificial intelligence to make the process faster and more efficient. The system can detect duplicate documents, summarize lengthy files, automatically classify documents, and search through large collections of documents. This system is being developed for Government of Canada employees who manage ATIP requests. The system does not currently involve personal information processing.
