AI-Powered Competition Enforcement Analysis Platform
COMPASS is a secure, generative artificial intelligence platform developed by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada to support competition enforcement and market analysis. The system processes large volumes of sensitive and confidential information—including consultation feedback, market studies, legal texts, and competition-related digital sources—to identify patterns, trends, and insights that support complex investigations and legal analysis.
The platform enhances analytical capabilities by leveraging large language models to perform advanced text analysis, summarization, and pattern detection. This enables faster and more efficient identification of key information in complex cases, reducing the manual effort previously required. COMPASS is currently in production and is used by Government of Canada employees who work on competition policy and enforcement matters.
IMPORTANT: This system does not process personal information about individuals. It focuses exclusively on organizational and market-level data related to competition enforcement. The system maintains Protected B security standards to protect the confidentiality of sensitive case documents and consultations.
