AI-Powered Drug Product Information Database

Dark Matter is a database system developed by Health Canada to store and manage results from machine learning models that analyze pharmaceutical product information. The system extracts and organizes data from product monographs, the Drug Product Database, and natural health products databases, allowing AI systems to identify document importance and discover relationships between different types of pharmaceutical text. This system is currently in development and does not collect personal information about individuals.

The primary users of Dark Matter are Government of Canada employees who work with pharmaceutical product information. The system enhances the accuracy of AI-powered document analysis by allowing users to review and correct any errors detected by the machine learning models, ensuring high-quality pharmaceutical data management. Users can search across multiple databases and export relevant data for their work.

As an AI system used within government operations, Dark Matter supports Health Canada's mission to regulate and monitor pharmaceutical products while improving the efficiency and accuracy of document processing through machine learning.
