AI Assistant Supporting Compensation Case Processing

The Human Capital Management Artificial Intelligence Virtual Assistant (AIVA) is an AI system currently in development by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) to support compensation agents in processing pay cases more efficiently. The system is designed to help reduce the existing backlog of cases by providing advice, information, and automated support for case closure tasks.

AIVA works by analyzing compensation case data and reference materials from authorized government systems (Phoenix and CMT), policy manuals, and historical case notes. The system can classify documents, extract key information, validate data against rules and schemas, and integrate with existing workflows to provide compensation agents with dashboard summaries and recommendations.

This system processes personal information about Government of Canada employees and their compensation cases. The system is currently in development and will primarily be used by GC compensation agents. Citizens and employees should understand that their compensation case data may be analyzed by this AI system to support case processing decisions.
