Free Open Maps of Vegetation Variables

The Landscape Evolution and Forecasting Toolbox (LEAF Toolbox) is a web-based system developed by Natural Resources Canada that provides free and open access to maps of vegetation variables. The system uses satellite data from sources like Sentinel and Landsat to create transparent, replicable vegetation products that users can visualize or export on demand.

LEAF Toolbox is available to members of the public and does not involve the collection or processing of personal information. The system is designed to be accessible on any web-enabled device, including desktop computers, mobile devices, and handheld computers. Users can customize analyses using their own algorithms, with results conditional on available satellite data and algorithm performance.

This system operates in production status and represents a transparent approach to environmental monitoring, allowing scientists, planners, and community members to access consistent, reproducible vegetation data for landscape analysis and forecasting applications.
