AI-Powered Document Analysis for Program Evaluation

Document Analyzer is an artificial intelligence system developed by the Government of Canada that automates the structured analysis of multiple documents to support program and project evaluation. The system streamlines the evaluation process by enabling faster review and synthesis of findings from technical reports, research papers, financial reports, project documentation, and other sources stored in government systems like EDRMS, InfoBank, and SharePoint. This tool is currently in production and used by Government of Canada employees in evaluation teams.

The system helps evaluators identify trends, risks, and lessons learned more efficiently while reducing manual effort and supporting standardized assessments. Document Analyzer does not process personal information—it focuses on analyzing organizational documents and reports. By automating document analysis, the system improves both the speed and quality of evaluation outputs, helping evaluation teams adopt generative AI capabilities while maintaining focus on evidence-based decision-making.
