AI-Powered Legacy Code Modernization

The Code Conversion System is an artificial intelligence tool developed by the Government of Canada to automate the migration of legacy programming code to modern languages. The system uses generative AI and natural language processing to convert outdated codebases written in languages like COBOL, Fortran, or older versions of Java and C# into modern, maintainable languages such as Python, Java, or Go. This system is currently in development and is intended for use by Government of Canada employees. The tool does not involve the processing of personal information, focusing instead on technical code transformation to improve software modernization efforts across the federal government.
