AI-Powered IT Support Self-Service System
Veterans Affairs Canada is developing an AI-powered assistant to help Government of Canada employees resolve standard IT issues independently. This generative AI system, currently in development, uses retrieval-augmented generation technology to provide accurate answers based on VAC's IT Service Desk policies, procedures, and training resources.
The assistant is designed to reduce the workload on IT support teams by enabling self-service resolution of common technical problems. It does not process personal information and is built to provide consistent, policy-aligned guidance to all users. This system represents an effort to modernize IT service delivery across the federal government while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
