AI-Powered Impact Assessment Review Support
The Impact Assessment Decision-Support Agent (IADSA) is an artificial intelligence system designed to assist Government of Canada employees in conducting environmental and social impact assessments. The system helps analysts manage large volumes of technical studies, geospatial data, and public submissions by summarizing complex information, modeling potential impacts, and generating structured recommendations for human review and decision-making.
This system is currently in production and is used internally by GC employees who review impact assessment applications. IADSA does not process personal information about individuals. The system is designed to improve efficiency and consistency while ensuring that all final decisions remain under human control and accountability. By automating routine analysis tasks, IADSA allows analysts to focus on higher-level judgment and stakeholder engagement.
Key features include intelligent summarization of technical documents, impact modeling, geospatial data analysis, public engagement support, compliance monitoring, and interactive decision dashboards. All recommendations generated by the system are reviewed and approved by human decision-makers before being finalized.
