Fuzzy Search (SSAName3) is a critical software system operated by the Canada Border Services Agency to identify and flag high-risk travellers and goods at the border. The system uses fuzzy name searching and matching technology to compare traveller and commercial information across multiple CBSA databases, including passenger records, cargo manifests, and enforcement intelligence. This helps border officials quickly identify individuals or shipments that may pose security or compliance risks.
The system processes personal information about travellers and is used by Government of Canada employees across CBSA's traveller, commercial, and intelligence and enforcement operations.
