AI-Powered Ministerial Correspondence Routing

Ministerial Correspondence is an intelligent automation system designed to process and route correspondence requests from the public to the appropriate subject matter experts within government. Developed collaboratively by Shared Services Canada and Canadian Heritage, this system uses generative AI to analyze incoming correspondence and provide initial responses while directing requests to the most qualified experts for detailed handling.

This system affects both government employees who use it to manage correspondence workflow and members of the public whose correspondence is processed by the system. The AI helps prioritize requests and ensures they reach the right departments quickly, improving response times and service quality.

Key transparency information: This system is currently in development, is used by Government of Canada employees, and does process information that may include personal details from public correspondence.
