Building AI Infrastructure for Canadian Administrative Tribunals
This AI Proof of Concept project is developing the foundational infrastructure, tools, and organizational capabilities needed to implement artificial intelligence solutions within Canada's Administrative Tribunals Support Service (ATSSC) and the tribunals it supports. The project is currently in development and aims to establish technical and governance frameworks that will enable future AI applications across the tribunal system.
The system involves collecting and processing data to evaluate AI implementation approaches, with protections for information classified up to Protected B status. This proof of concept will inform how AI technologies can be integrated into tribunal operations while maintaining appropriate safeguards for sensitive government information. Government of Canada employees and tribunal staff are the primary users of this infrastructure.
As this system involves personal information processing, transparency about data handling practices is important for maintaining public trust in Canada's administrative tribunal system. The project focuses on responsible infrastructure development rather than immediate deployment of decision-making systems.
