Genni is an internal generative AI tool developed by the Canada Revenue Agency to help employees complete AI-powered tasks securely within the government network. Unlike public AI tools, Genni is specifically designed to handle sensitive government information classified up to Protected B level, ensuring that taxpayer data and confidential government content remain within secure government systems.
The system provides enterprise-wide access to generative AI capabilities including content generation, text analysis, and classification functions. Genni processes information from multiple CRA data sources including tax guidance documents, service feedback, and internal communications to support employee work across the organization.
This system is currently in production and primarily serves Government of Canada employees. Please note that Genni does process personal information in the course of its operations. Employees and the public should be aware of how this tool handles sensitive data to ensure appropriate use and protection of confidential information.
