AI-Powered Wildfire Risk Forecasting

This system uses satellite imagery and machine learning to predict wildfire risk across Canada. Developed by the Canada Research and Development Corporation in partnership with the Canadian Space Agency, it analyzes satellite data to identify areas at elevated fire risk before incidents occur.

The system is used by Government of Canada employees to support wildfire management and emergency preparedness planning. By providing early warnings of potential fire hotspots, the system helps protect communities and natural resources from wildfire threats.

This system does not process personal information. It operates in Phase 1 of development and continues to be refined to improve prediction accuracy and operational effectiveness.
