AI-Powered Real-Time Cyber Threat Detection

Darktrace is an artificial intelligence-powered cybersecurity system deployed by the Canadian Grain Commission to detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats in real time. The system learns normal patterns of behavior across networks, devices, and users, then identifies anomalies that may indicate malicious activity. This autonomous threat detection capability helps reduce manual intervention and minimize the time needed to identify and contain security incidents.

The system processes multiple types of data including network traffic, endpoint activity, cloud and SaaS telemetry, email metadata, and identity and access logs. By analyzing these data sources, Darktrace can adapt to evolving cybersecurity risks without relying on predefined rules, making it effective against complex and unpredictable attacks that traditional rule-based security tools struggle to manage.

This system is currently in production and involves processing personal information. It is primarily used by technical staff within the organization, not by employees or the public in general. The system is vendor-supplied and operated by Darktrace.
