The EI Research Companion is an artificial intelligence tool currently in development that helps Government of Canada employees research Employment Insurance legislation and regulations. The system uses natural language processing to allow business analysts to ask questions about EI Acts and Regulations in plain language, receiving fast, citation-backed responses to support the creation of requirements and technical specifications.
This tool is designed to improve research efficiency for internal government users by providing accurate, source-verified information from official EI legislation. The system does not process personal information and is intended solely for use by GC employees involved in EI policy analysis and system development.
Key transparency information: This system is currently in development status, is being developed by Accenture as a vendor, and processes only legislative and regulatory documents—not personal data.
