The SWS-QA-Tool is an artificial intelligence system developed by the Government of Canada to improve data quality and verification processes for the Chief Financial Officer's Statistical and Reporting Unit. The system uses algorithms, regression models, and data science techniques to automatically detect errors in financial data, prioritize quality assurance tasks, and generate status reports more quickly and reliably than manual processes. This system is currently in development and will replace a legacy SAP tool that is no longer supported.
The tool processes financial and project management data to compare observed values against expected values, identifying discrepancies and signaling issues to data owners. This helps the CFO's team improve data accuracy while also tracking progress on the government's data entry initiatives for grants and contributions. The system is designed for use by Government of Canada employees who work with financial and statistical data.
This system does not involve personal information about individuals. It focuses exclusively on financial and project data used for internal quality assurance and reporting purposes.
