The CanmetENERGY Devon AI Assistant is a Large Language Model system deployed by Natural Resources Canada to help government employees analyze and interpret energy-related data. The system accepts documents and media uploads from users and provides customized analytical responses and opinions based on the submitted information. This AI assistant is currently in production and is designed to support internal government analysis work.
The system is built on open-source technology (Ollama and Anything LLM) and processes private data sources. It is accessible to Government of Canada employees only. The system does not involve processing of personal information about individuals. Users should be aware that this is an AI-assisted tool that interprets data based on learned patterns and should be used as a decision-support aid rather than a definitive source of truth.
